Counter Strike Global Offensive is the first iteration of the entire series which decided to bring a kind of a ranking system to the game. This ranking system was widely and easily accepted by all as it made the game much more interesting than it already was; it became competitive. Soon, every player was playing ranked matches and calibrating at the best rank they can, or starting afresh by making a new account. However, instead of buying a new game, what the smart players in the community started doing instead is to buy level 2 CSGO accounts, and try and get calibrated at a better rank. Since the calibration process took up to ten matches to finally calibrate a player based on their skill level, not experience, players wanted to dive into the calibration process directly instead of waiting around and wasting time.
Hackers, like the previous CS games, hounded this game too. As a result, the CSGO developers came up with a method of preventing or at least delaying and thereby discouraging the hackers by making the basic level required for playing ranked matches down to level 2 profiles. As a result of this mechanic, every new player has to play up to 7, 8 weeks before they are able to play ranked matches for calibrating again. When they become level 2, they can finally start playing, but instead, they can even opt to buy level 2 CSGO accounts to make the process much faster than before.
This prolonged way of introducing players to the game, forcing them to play normal, casual matches before allowing them to play ranked matches is great for new players, and a good determent for hackers to face. However, for old players simply looking to start again from a new account, in hopes of getting calibrated to a better rank than they have, this method isn’t exactly suitable. As a result, if any player wants to recalibrate their CSGO rank, faster than normal, and skip the tedious phase in the start, then opting to buy level 2 CSGO accounts is the best option available.
